Food in Our Neighborhood: Maya's
Best chile relleno I've ever had. Poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, breaded with cornmeal, smothered in red salsa, and served with rice and beans. Tastes a little bit like eggplant parmigiana with a kick.

Our Park
This is part of a trail that runs through our park. This trail runs in a big loop from which you can see views to the north of Glendale and Burbank, and to the south of downtown Los Angeles. There's also a hill on the other side of the park leading to the historic area of Chavez Ravine--presently the site of Dodger Stadium. The city had big plans to turn the community into a housing development, but the plan was sabotaged when Fr-nk W-lkinson was accused of being a communist. He recently passed away.

View from Our Balcony
This is where I take the laptop when work is going slowly. To the left is the neighborhood of Echo Park. According to the M-ke D-vis book C-ty of Quartz, this area was home to important artists and intellectuals at one time, including Car-y M-Williams, father of my disertation advisor.
