Here's Something I've Never Had Before
It's Dosa! A large crispy pancake with potato filling. It came with two dipping sauce, a soup with potato and chili peppers, and a green sauce that had the texture of ricotta cheese. We got this at Paru Vegetarian, a Southern Indian restaurant on Sunset Blvd in Little Armenia-Hollywood.
Temescal Ridge
This view from Temescal Ridge in Topanga State Park overlooks Pacific Palisades and Will Rogers Beach.
Hugo's Tacos
These tacos were a random find in North Hollywood.
We were on our way to see the Great Wall a 1/2 mile long mural depicting the history of L.A. The panel below depicts the Okies' migration to California during the Dust Bowl era.
Clockwise from top-left: green bean & corn with salsa arbol, soy chorizo with salsa habanero, soy chorizo with tomatillo salsa, soy chorizo with tomato salsa, green bean & corn with tomatillo salsa.

Guelaguetza!
Here are some photos from the latest trip to our favorite Mexican restaurant in L.A. My dish was Salsa de Huevos, an open face omelette with a light tomato sauce and black beans and tortillas on the side. Margaret James got her favorite, Mexican style enchiladas in Coloradito mole sauce (tortillas smothered in a sweet sauce, with Oaxacan string cheese on top).
I got the huevoz rancheros the night before. That's a lot of eggs, Oaxacan style. I felt like Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke!
